Hivo started out of our need to find places to host meetings, work remotely, and take calls. We began with an entrepreneur, a student, and two working professionals who shared similar problems.
We love to get work done in them! However, our favorite ones were often full, and we had to get there to find out.
Some of us needed a professional background for video meetings, while others needed spaces for meeting clients. It is difficult and time-consuming to find businesses having office spaces.
Many of these locations have monthly contracts that require you to pay for the entire month even if you only use the space for a couple hours.
We realized that the infrastructure exists to facilitate people working remotely, but it is difficult to find. We wanted to spend our time on getting work done instead of finding the perfect spot for our needs. Hence, we made Hivo to help ourselves and our community.

While Hivo is currently predominantly in Nova Scotia, we have big dreams for it. We would like to extend its benefits across the entirety of Canada and beyond. There are many people who work on the go and travel frequently. Whether you are a busy executive or a free digital nomad, we would like to help you out.
You do not need to be a local to find the best spots in town for your particular needs. You should not have to make a trip to a cafe just to find that they have no capacity. Leave the research to us, while you focus on work.
